In Classroom Field Trip
Our Educational Programs and "In School" field trips are designed to give the children a glimpse into the world of coral reefs.
We work with ages 2yrs through adults. We also work with special needs individuals.
A Living Reef is used to enhance the experience and see some living organisms in a natural state.
The reef will contain: Clownfish Other small fish Shrimp Crabs Coral Starfish Snails Urchin (when available) Many other reef inhabitants. We have lots of items to touch and explore.
Skeletons Puzzles (wooden and 3D) Magazines and Books Felt board with skick-ons Replica animals Stuffed animals Games Many other hands on activites. |
Older children will also have opportunities to view organisms through microscopes and magnifying glass.
Core Curriculum Programs
HabitatsWe will discuss the ideas of habitats and specifically the different habitats and animals of the coral reef.
We use a Powerpoint presentation and hands on items. Estimated time allotment should be 45min. |
Survival and Adaptation
We use the coral reef to discuss how the animals have learned to survive through adaptations and symbiotic relationships.
We use a Powerpoint presentation, videos, and hands on activities. Estimated time allotment should be 45min to 1hr. |
EcosystemWith coral reefs being one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world, we will dive into why this is an ecosystem. Food chains, habitats, symbiosis and other ideas related to a coral reef.
We will use Powerpoint presentation, videos, hands on materials and other materials as time permits. Estimated time allotment should be 1hr. |
